Memories of Radar
What a wonderful soul you are, Radar! Happy and loving. Though life dealt you a difficult beginning, you never complained about all of your health issues, many because of the horrible abuse you had to endure before you were rescued.

Fate brought you to me one day five years ago, when I was doing the last leg of a transport of another Dalmatian from Ohio. At the last minute, the rescue director found out there was another Dalmatian at the shelter and could they please save him, too? I was asked to keep you "for a few days" because there were no other foster homes open. That "few days" turned into five years and I am so glad and honored to have been able to spend them with you.

The shelter had cut your collar out of your neck and you arrived that day, with a big wound around your neck. No one knew that you were pretty much blind, and when letting you out in the yard that first day, you ran directly into the swimming pool....five times. You were covered in more fleas than I had ever seen, but you were happy to be free! We fixed you up and every day since that one, you have made me feel happy, loved and needed. I will keep those wonderful feelings and memories of our shared time forever.

I am forever grateful for the love, joy and lessons you brought into my life. If only people could be as patient, forgiving and joyful. You took a huge part of my heart when you left. Oh, how it hurts! I love you so much! My love will always be strong and unbroken for you, my precious boy. We will be together again one day, and I can hold you close once more.

It's been two years now, but the love we shared is alive in my heart. I miss you so much, precious boy.

Four years haven't numbed the pain of you being gone. What a gift you were in my life.
