You are Casey's kitty but when my Humphrey kitty passed on to the meadow by the Bridge to wait for me, you sensed my loss and came to comfort me. Looking down from the meadow, Humphrey told his kitty sister she now was to take care of Grandpa. Pressy, you became my pal, not replacing my Humphrey but to ease my
grieving. You helped ease my loss and over the years we became so close. You came to be a close companion to me, meaning so much. Your illness and loss saddened me such as I have seldom felt. It helps to know you wait for me in the meadow, no longer sick and frail but once again vibrant with energy. I keep that happy image in my heart alongside your pawprints to help ease your loss. I grieve for you until we meet again in the meadow to cross the Bridge together.
10/24/06 This is a picture of me as a baby my Daddy Casey took when I was healthy and strong...the way I should be remembered. My Grandpa Richard and Grandma Patricia looked for a picture of me as a big girl. Daddy put it here because this is a wonderful picture with nice memories. My Daddy left me home with Grandpa and Grandma when he grew up and left to make his own life because he knew how much I meant to Grandpa and what pals we were. Even though I stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa, my Daddy and kitty brother Willie visited me and my Daddy never forgot me. When I got sick, Daddy made a special trip flying across the country just to see me and give me loves. My Daddy is very sad right now but my kitty brother Willie will help him feel better. I will be waiting for Grandma, Grandpa, and Daddy together with Humphrey in the meadow by the Bridge. To my little girl kitty Pepper still with Grandma and Grandpa...stop looking for me. I am there only in spirit. Do not wander the house or sit looking out the window into my beloved backyard searching for me. You bid me your last goodbye yesterday before I passed on to the meadow. Your job now is to help Grandpa and Grandma with my passing; just as I helped Grandpa when Humphrey passed on to the meadow. Do not mourn me for I am well again and no longer hurt. I walk the meadow now just as I did my wonderful backyard at home. Humphrey and I are waiting for you as we are waiting for Grandma, Grandpa, and Daddy.
10/25/06 Grandpa picked up my ashes today and took me home. I am waiting with Grandma and Grandpa for my Daddy to come home from Virginia. When my Daddy gets home, Grandma, Grandpa, and my Daddy are putting me in my beloved backyard. Even after I got sick, I still loved to go out in my backyard and walk around and lie in the sun. On the afternoon I passed over to the meadow by the Bridge, my Grandma took me out into my backyard. Although it would be difficult for me, I was asking to go. My Grandma made sure I got to walk around my backyard in the sunshine one last time before I left. I am so happy knowing I will still be lying in the sunshine in my beloved backyard where Grandma, Grandpa, and Daddy can visit me.
10/25/06 Today my Daddy Casey helped me put into words my special feelings about my backyard in a poem called "The Backyard". Daddy did the writing but I softly whispered the thoughts into his heart to put them down for me so all could see and know the great part my backyard played in my life. 10/27/06 Daddy, the poem you helped me write is so beautiful and I want to share it with everyone who visits me. Thank you for helping me and then putting it out to be seen. Please don't be so sad. I love you and miss you, too, but I am looking down on you from the meadow and smiling with the love we share. The last time you were with me and gave me loves, I was sick, frail, and hurting. 10/27/06 Good morning, my sweet little old lady baby. Grandpa is truly missing you. You have only been gone a few days but it seems as if it's been forever. I have visited your place many times a day and night since you left. Most often I have been unable to leave you a note because the hurt is too deep but today I need to try to tell you at least a little bit of what you mean to me, baby. I always knew how special you are to me but until now I never really understood how deeply intertwined you are in every bit of my life. I miss you waiting for me with your happy meows at the top of the stairs when I come home. I miss your warmth and soft purrs curled up at the back of my neck on the pillow in bed at night. I miss your quiet companionship with me as I sat reading. No matter where I look or what I do, your imprint is indelibly there. I just don't know how I will ever get over your absence from my life. Your Grandma doesn't say much but I often look over and see sadness on her face and a tear in her eye. From time to time, she has to get a tissue to wipe her eyes and blow her nose. She too misses you and is mourning you in her own quiet way. Your little kitty sister Pepper is so upset and missing you. You were such a wonderful big sister and companion to her. You were the "talker" kitty often sharing long conversations with me. Pepper never really talked much except for a very rare small and faint "meow"...sometimes I wasn't sure she had even opened her mouth. Since you have been gone, she has been continually wandering the house searching for you. She goes to every closed door and loudly demands it be opened so she can go in and see if you are there. She cannot understand why you seem to be hiding from her. Pepper comes to me frequently and questions me on your whereabouts with stern meows. I respond quietly to her trying to explain that you are not physically with us anymore but are still here with us in spirit looking down from the happy meadow place. She does not understand and simply walks away with a plaintive meow for another round of the house hoping to find you. Pepper sits by the sliding glass door gazing out into your backyard looking for you there since she cannot find you in the house. I try to comfort her but to no avail. Somehow, you must let your little girl Pepper know that you are well and will always be with her as her "mommy" even though she cannot see you. My sweet Pressy, you had such a big role in all our lives! Love, Grandpa.
10/27/06 Dear Grandma, Grandpa, and Daddy. I wish you wouldn't be so terribly sad. Although I miss you all very much, I am happy and rested here in the meadow. I have found so many wonderful new companions to romp and play with now I am well again. I found Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa's special babies here. I am now with Great-Grandma's big Targie kitty and with Grandpa's beloved Hansie. Their big black kitty Casey is here with us too. Char is here with me and is well again just like me. She gives me rides on her back and we gallop across the beautiful meadow in the sunshine as fast as the wind! Tyler the little crippled kitty from Cedarhill is here. He is so happy; he isn't crippled any more and can run to play tag with me. In fact, EVERYONE is here! I am now with Heidi, Tiger, and Cocoa...all the furry members of our family who went ahead to the meadow to wait to rejoin one day as a family. As soon as I passed over into the meadow by the Bridge, I was warmly welcomed by many furangels. I cannot remember all their names there were so many, both doggies and kitties. They made me feel at home. Many of their people parents have visited me in this beautiful Rainbows Bridge place and have left messages for you, my dear family. Be comforted by their words, thoughts, and prayers just as I am comforted by their furangels here. There are beautiful doggies, both big and small, looking after me. They tell me their special people told them to watch for my arrival and to care for me. So many kitties playing with me have said the same thing. 10/28/06 Good morning, my little old lady baby. Miss our special kitty very much. Grandma and Grandpa went through a lot of pictures last night looking for photos of our girl. We found some but there will never be enough. Some showed you as a cute little girl, others as a grown-up lady. How beautiful and strong you look as a big girl! This is the way that Grandma and Grandpa are remembering you. We know someday the pain we feel now will be partially healed by all the wonderful memories you shared with us. When you were young, I would let you out to wander in the rain. When you became an old lady kitty, Grandpa wouldn't let you out when it was rainy and cold. I am sorry for that baby but Grandpa did not want you to get sick. You had to stay at the rainy day place by the heat vent and survey your backyard through the sliding glass door. 11/7/06 Hello my little old lady baby. How I miss you greeting me when I come home from work. You were always at the top of the stairs, walking back and forth and greeting me with your meow hellos. Although you have been gone for more than two weeks, I still look for you as I walk through the door and am so sad when you're not there. I don't think I will ever really deal completely with your loss...you meant so much to me. Just as I never really got over the loss of Humphrey; I doubt I will get over yours. Both of my special kitty babies are such a large part of my life. You helped me deal with Humphrey's loss; now you are gone, too. Today is a sad day of remembrance for a terrible tragedy which struck our country 10 years ago today...cowardly terrorists of no moral principle killed many people in a dastardly attack. 10/19/11 Little Old Gray Lady Kitty, I have a sad request. Please gather with Char, the Childers meadow fur family, the Sunshine Kids, and all other precious furangels in Paradise Meadow to meet many poor animals coming to the meadow today. There are beautiful tigers, lions, bears, wolves, and others who come through no fault of theirs but because of a senseless human act. These newcomers are hurt and confused so all furangels must comfort them and enfold them in soft angel wings...we know Tatiana will comfort the beautiful tigers. We ask St Francis to bless them and take away their pain. They will be remembered at next Monday's Candlelight Service...we will say a prayer and light candles so they will see the soft glow telling them they are loved and held gently in many sad hearts.
