Memories of Polly
We fostered and adopted Polly in August of 2011 when she was rescued from a puppy mill living there for about 5 years and then they gave her up. Her big bro helped her to learn to trust people, to eat , to walk and for all the first that a puppy gets to enjoy she did five years later. First time we brought her home she had a stuff bunny that she would not leave, within a week she was tearing it up. We knew that she didn't need it anymore. She didn't bark when put in crate at night but within a month she was sleeping with us in bed with her bro. Polly learned quick about holding her bladder and she learned to be ok with taking walks on leash. Even thought she was always scared loud trucks or loud noise she learned to have more confidence and trust that it was ok. She liked to take my socks and daddies gloves and run with them and drop them. She loved to jump on Bros back to get him excited about another dog coming. She became confident in herself and barked at others coming near us. She got to roll in grass, jump in snow, get belly rubs, and bathes which she hated. To snug with her best buddy for naps and in car rides to always put her head on his back and they were inseparateable dogs, had to take them both every where. Polly was there for Bo when he had surgery a few months ago and she cuddle with him and kept checking him. So her last visit to vet her buddy was there and she wasn't alone and we got to say good bye. Happened all sudden without warning and that is worse part . But we try to remember that she lived a good life coming from a puppy mill and which could have done some more last with her but we didn't know. REST baby and know that you are always in our hearts.. We hope that others will rescue dogs and from shelters there is so many need us. Polly wants us to love like we loved her and give to the next one when we are ready. Right now cuddling with her buddy and missing her. Remember to adopt from shelter or organization!! Stop puppy mills by stop buying them on line or at stores. That would be POLLY wish and last request to Help her sister and brothers that never made it out!!!
