Memories of Penny
I am so grateful for the time I spent with Penny. I found her wandering around a Dairy Queen parking lot more than 12 years ago on the very day that my dog, Chrissi, passed away. I've always believe that Chrissi sent her to comfort me.
Penny was a loving and loyal companion for over 12 years. A 70 lb dog, she would have been 15 this March, which is many more years than I might have expected her to share my life. She finally succumbed to lung cancer this morning.
Linked to this memorial is her sister and best friend, Daisy, who crossed the Bridge ahead of her 4 years ago. I know that they are once again running and playing together and I look forward to the day that I see them again.
My beautiful Pen - I will miss you every day. Thanks for all the love and laughter you've given me over the years.

2/8/21 - Beautiful girl, I miss you so much! I have left your bed as it was and I know you hear me telling you good morning and good night still. Joe is still lying in your spot at night just to feel close to you. There is a big hole in our house and in our hearts. Today, I went to the shelter intent on adopting a little dog that reminded me of you, but she was already spoken for. However, a little black dog - maybe a cross between Daisy and Molly - convinced me that she belongs to me so I adopted her and she should be able to come home in a couple of days. She can't possibly take your place, but she will fill in some of the emptiness. She'll reveal her name to us over time - maybe you'll whisper one to me. I love you, Pen.

3/14/21 - Happy birthday, my girl! Today, you would have been the ripe old age of 15. I think of you every day and miss you so much.
That doggie you sent us - Chloe - is a handful! My goodness! I remember when you ate my phone, and my chairs, and my blinds, but this little one puts you in the shade. She eats EVERYTHING! After the first few nights, she abandoned her bed and started sleeping on yours to be close to Joe. Seems fitting.
I love you, Pen and send kisses to your sisters there before you.....

1/3/22 - My girl, has it really been nearly a year since you left us? I miss you every day, sweetheart! Chloe has become good friends with Joe and Nikkel but I know Joe would trade her in a minute if he could have you back again.
I hope you and all your sisters are playing in the sun today and every day.

3/7/22 - Pen Pen, my love, how I miss you!! I keep expecting to hear your bark and see your beautiful face. Love you so much - give Daisy a kiss from me as today is the day we all lost her.

2/3/24 - Lovely Penny! You have been on my mind so much lately. How I miss your beautiful smile! I know you, Daisy, and the rest of your sisters, along with Booster, are having a wonderful time playing together and I can't wait to see you all again one day. Joe sends his love, too.
