Memories of Mr. Kitty
Mr. Kitty, appeared on our back deck in 1996 moments after our Golden Retriever, Shasha passed away. He was incredibly handsome, despite his obvious broken tail. He gallantly strolled inside our home consoling our beagle, Chico. They became instant friends, with Mr. Kitty hopskipping with Chico on daily walks. When Chico passed away he warmheartedly greeted our new badly neglected rescue beagle, Richmond. The first evening Mr. Kitty curled in a ball, laying his head on Richmond's heart as if to say "this joint is great.. you will love Mom & Dad.!" He has continued over these many years to be a good steward, greeting all 4 & 2 legged friends with a big smile and warm heart. Even non-cat lovers he has won over, impressing them with his grace, good manners, gorgeous looks and gentle heart.

The one thing he disliked was riding in the car. However knowing that the destination was our Bethany Beach house he would grin and bear it. He was King of our second floor porch with a birds-eye view of the city lights. Once, not wanting to return home...he played hide and seek for 3 hours delaying our departure. No one minded his sense of humor.....

There is nary a person, having met Mr. Kitty who did not recognize his unusual intelligence, humor and mystical spirit. He softened hearts by wanting so little for himself and respecting others boundaries. Last week despite his sudden & dramatic illness he moved slowly once again, without regard for himself, to curl up with his long time pal Richmond (now 17+) who is battling aggessive cancer. Mr. Kitty's tranquil nature, generous soul and reflective personality graced him with a long healthy life. He aged gracefully with dignity, leaving us quietly on Wednesday to rest in eternal peace. We will carry his spirit within us forever, remembering all the joy, smiles and goodness he brought to our lives.

Mr. Kitty.... you were richly loved, adored & appreciated.

Lovingly,

Your Mom, Dad, Richmond & Girlie
