Memories of Monkey
My little Monkey brought smiles and laughter to everyone he met. He fought cancer for 10 months before his little body gave up but not his spirt. I was very fortunate to be able to take Monkey to work with me every day he was able to go. I work at a catholic seminary and the Rector there "Monsignor Schreck" told me to bring Monkey to work every day that he could come. Monkey loved seeing all the students, priest and co-workers every day. He never let a day go by without getting someone to give him his daily belly rub. Many a time we would be walking down one of the halls and Monkey would dart into a classroom to see his friends, he always made them laugh. I have been told by many that Monkey brought sunshine and made their days brighter. He was a special little guy and I am truly lucky to work where Monkey was welcomed and loved and now so dearly missed. I still see my little guy running the halls to see who he could find and what next he could get into to make people laugh.
Now my heart is heavy with the pain of losing you, but I would do it all over again even now knowing how much it hurts not seeing you each day. I was the lucky one when you came into my life. I miss you sooooo much Monkey Face.
