Memories of Lucky
5/31/11 Today we released you to go to Rainbow Bridge. It was time. You spent your entire life, over 17 1/2 years, as the most unique and wonderful Registered Therapy Cat one could have ever imagined. You started at one nursing home and went on to visit many more, become part of a dance drill team, dancing to "Alley Cat", doing hospice work and making a huge difference for one special resident, working in a hospital setting, educating people on what a therapy cat does, winning a calender photo contest and allowing me to dress you in all sorts of outfits without protest. Your favoite toys were all kinds of ribbons and the special catnip toys we made for you. You would go anywhere with me and when we arrived back home you loved to walk on your leash as we went back to the house and explore the grass and the cars parked in the cove. You loved sitting on the fleece bed on top of your rolling crate to viisit residents. You were so patient when I put your special nail caps on before visits. Even when you were diagnosed with diabetes and had to have daily blood glucose tests you easily allowed this and adapted to a new low carb diet. These last few months, when it was discovered that you also had cancer you put up with the feeding tube which helped keep you going and even the IV fluids you needed at the end. You even hung in there for a final mini photo/video session and continued to eat on your own until the end. All those costumes lent themselves well when you needed the little undershirts to help protect your feeding tube these last few months. All the time we spent together while caring for you in your own hospice situation during the last few months just brought us closer together. You are so much missed and loved. You are in a better place now, but we will visit with you often. You are with Misty and Max and Samantha Jane now and they will welcome you and show you the ropes. I will be working on a very special urn for your earthly remains and put lots of love into it. Rest in peace. We will miss you so much. Today a huge basket of azaelias arrived from your friends from Love On A Leash, with a huge blue bow and a dove. I will try to plant them so they come up every year in your memory, and keep the bow and the dove. Love for now from your people and from Daisy and Emmie. Your Mother and Father

Please also visit Colorado Mist, Daisy, Max and Samantha Jane.
