Memories of "Lil WInnie" McFarland
I will never forget that night when I looked through the patio door and saw big green eyes staring into the house, you were so tiny you looked like a little bear cub! Grandma said "that looks like a little Slater!" Lil Winnie, I had never had a feral cat before, and I didn't know how to approach you and you lived between the shed and our patio for 3 months before we could catch you! You played with Gabi through the glass door and would bat at me with your paw. We finally caught you on Grandma's birthday and found out you were a little girl! We named you Winnifred and called you Lil Winnie. You and Slater were like twins and you filled a hole in our hearts when Slater crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2012. You were the baby to Saki and Gabi and the house was never the same. You helped me when Slater passed in so many ways, I truly believe you were sent for that purpose. You became known as "Big Booty Girl" cause you had a big booty! You always marched in place, even when walking and Grandma would say "Lil Winnie, we're not in a parade"!. You were the sweetest, most loving cat and holding your paw gave me so much comfort. I miss brushing you and singing the booty song to you every night. I know you are running free and with Slater, your big sisters Mina and Lucki, Grandma and Great Grandma BeBe. Thank you for letting me love you and for loving unconditionally. I am still in shock and disbelief as I write this, I can't believe you are really gone. I still call your name to come snuggle with Mommy and for treats and dinner. I leave the light on in the closet and Christmas Mouse will stay there. When you meowed, you sounded like a baby and I will never forget that sound! Please take care of Grandma and Great-Grandma BeBe and your Big Brother Slater, your Stepbrother Jazz(I know he is cat friendly now) and your big sisters Mina and Lucki. You are in the arms of St. Francis and I know you are at peace. I will see you again Lil Winnie and Mommy will carry you in her heart...
