Memories of Kali Ann
My darling special little girl, I promised myself that I was not going to cry, but that is a promise I cannot keep and will have to break. I can't believe you are gone. You were cheated out of a long life. Thank you for everything, all the love and the wonderful memories, and your three beautiful babies that you entrusted to us to raise. We will never forget you. You'll always be in our hearts and soul. I love you so much I will never stop. Your daddy's love will always be with you, after all, you were and still is, "daddy's little girl".

I walked into the house and I fully expected you to grab a tennis ball and drop it at my feet to throw for you. Oh baby girl, I miss you so much. Just two weeks ago you and I were playing ball and daddy was swinging you around and around while you were holding onto your tire. WEE! I feel so guilty working all those long hours in December, if I would have thought for a moment that you would be gone in a matter of weeks, I would not have worked at all, but stayed at home with you and enjoyed each minute that we had together. The problem was that I took you for granted and expected to see you at home each day. I truly will do my best not to do that with your puppies, but to always embrace the moments we have together. That didn't come out right, as I always embraced the moments we had together. And don't worry; no one will be taking your place in the front passenger seat of the truck, as that will always be your special spot for a special little Angel. I love you, and I can't tell you that enough. I always said you were Angel sent from Heaven and now I have several little Angels in Heaven.

Kali, I remember when I first brought you home and daddy was saying, "We're not keeping her", but one look at your sweet little face and his heart melted. You were a little spit fire. Your first toy I bought you, you shredded under ten minutes, if that long. You'd bolt for the door the minute it was open and the chase was on. You thought it was so much fun running up and down the street, in other back yards and running into stranger's homes and then daddy finally nabbed you. You gave us a run for our money.

Another wonderful memory I have is AGAIN, you got out of the house and always just out of reach by a finger tip away. You then would dash off, and we would use ElizzaBear to lure you back in, but not before we had to scour the neighborhood. You ended up at a construction site and daddy was looking for you while you were playing hide-and-seek watching daddy from right above his head on a large dirt mound, while he is looking for you not knowing you were watching him. You little stinker. I'll love you til the end of time until we will meet again so I can hold you and embrace you and never let you go.

You were such a good girl and one of the most intelligent dogs that I have ever, and I do mean EVER had the pleasure of knowing. You were definitely the last of the Super Troopers. I rarely had to worry about you getting into trouble, if ever. Everyone you met fell in love with you and always said how beautiful you were. You are a true Princess. I love you so much.

I was just thinking how much you loved to swim, whenever an opportunity presented itself you wasted no time jumping in the water and taking full advantage of the situation. Oh, how you loved to swim and chase after the ball in the water. Our little PIMA Fish. You were an amazing, AMAZING, little girl. My little Kalibers, you were a true spitfire.

I also wanted to thank you for warning me in December 2011, the day before my birthday when you were barking at me and I thought you wanted for me to throw your Frisbee; when instead you were warning me that the puppies were running up behind me. I should have listened, they broke my right ankle in three places, dislocated my foot and tore two ligaments and was bed ridden for 4 months with eight screws and a plate. I'll know better next time, but you won't be here to warn me.

We'll never forget you and we promise to take good care of your babies, Ben, Charlie Brown and Daisey Mae. They too are missing you and will always love their momma. The atmosphere is so subdued. But we are going to celebrate your wonderful life. As your song goes, "Cute little Butt Butt brown and white, plays all day and sleeps all night". Of course that was when you weren't hunting for mice at night. You were the best mouser. I think both Ben and Charlie Brown picked up a few helpful hints from you on how to chase down the mice.

I know you are having fun now with ElizzaBear, Ian, Diablo, Moscow, Toby, Bandit, Nicc, and your grandparents. Have fun my Sweet Angel and don't be sad, we'll meet again and we'll always be together. Until then, chase that ball!

Here is a poem someone wrote me once and it makes me feel better and I want to share it with you so you too will feel better and wait for the day when you'll forever be in my arms. I love you.

By the edge of the woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over... together.

Until then, we'll love and cherish you forever and you'll always be in our hearts,

Mommy, Daddy, Ben, Charlie Brown, and little Daisey Mae
