Tribute to Wiscombe Fly

This morning, we lost our beloved Fly -- our English Labrador Retriever who joined her husband at Rainbow Bridge. Fly has brightened our lives since the day she joined our family in 2003 -- when she arrived in the Bay Area from Devon England.

"Wiscombe Fly" was born on December 9, 2002 to Wiscombe Diva (mom) and Shonagar Bantur (dad).
Fly was preceded in death by her husband, Countryways Whizz who was born on July 22, 2000 to Countryways Jewel (mom) and Garendon Captain (dad).

Fly had a reserved but sweet spirit. She was a gentle soul who came alive when she visited the beach in Carmel. We would call her "Carmel Fly" because of the transformation that would occur as soon as she began to smell the sea air. Just last month, in spite of being riddled with cancer, Fly made her last walk to the Carmel beach and you could tell that for that brief moment, she was "Carmel Fly" again.

We will remember Fly best for her gentle and sweet spirit and how she enriched our lives.

I close with a quote in Fly's honor, "Dogs come into our lives, leave paw prints on our hearts, and we are forever changed."

We will miss you sweet Fly. XO
