Memories of Eros
Eros passed away at home earlier this month, after a very short battle with metastatic hemangiosarcoma. I waited until 2/29/24 to write this tribute. A unique day to celebrate a unique, one-of-a-kind cat like him. Eros was a Chartreux, born in France and moved to the US with his breeder at a young age. He found his way into our lives at the age of seven and lived with us until his death just 2 weeks short of his 15th birthday. Eros was named after the Greek God of love, a very appropriate name for him. Eros was the most loving friend, and beloved by all who knew him. Each morning, he would run to the top of a very large staircase, patiently waiting for his family to get up. He followed us around the house from room to room (sometimes even down to the basement), always wanting to be part of the family. He was an acrobat, even at almost 15 years of age, he'd jump onto kitchen counters of extraordinary heights. The favorite parts of his day were sunbathing in the living room in the afternoons and snuggling with his mom watching TV at night. Our home and our hearts are empty now without our cherished family member. Time may heal our wounded hearts, but we will never forget Eros. It was an honor and privilege to have him be part of our lives. Rest in heaven with the angels, sweet little boy.
