Memories of Dollie
Goodbye Dollie, my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground
Goodbye Dollie, it's hard you died
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there

you are home! A soul Angels envy!

To you my beautiful Girl .....

Thank you for being my biggest fan, I am yours. You taught me about loyalty, forgiveness and most of all love! From the first time Geoff showed me your picture, his new puppy, I said "I want Dollie", I never have had any regrets. No matter what happened in our life, we were together. We cried together and laughed together. We were inseparable. I was your protector, I took that job seriously. In turn you were my protector! You accepted and loved me unconditionally, despite my many shortcomings.

I know you were tired and things were getting more difficult and not as much fun anymore, it was your time. Thank you for giving us the last four months, it has meant everything to me. I am sorry, the one thing I could not protect you from was ... time.
You left such an imprint on my heart , giving me something to cherish. There are so many things to be grateful for when it comes to you. Number One: How happy you are to see me, even if I had been there the whole time 😉. The all time best memory is when I came home from a walk with Grace. You were laying against the couch looking at me. All I said was hey baby girl, you jump up and met me mid kitchen. I was so happy to see you, we put our foreheads together while I was rubbing both ears. I kissed you on the head and you made your little cooing sound, god I love that sound! Little did I know that would be the last time. Another truly special moment is when we went to your favorite park, one of the few times you had the energy to make it down the hill. You were so excited about playing in the river at your favorite water hole. Then when we got up the hill you needed to rest so we sat in the grass enjoying the breeze by our favourite tree, watching people and dogs go by on the path. You looked so happy! As usual people passed by and smiled at you, you brought sunshine to all. You made me feel so special and lucky. To have known you and love you is the ultimate gift of a lifetime, my Angel Dollie. My so loyal girl, laying by the bathroom door when I showered, I know making sure I did not escape;). Always wanting to be in the same room as me, it was more important to be with me then avoid the vacuum cleaner. Everyone else would hide, not you . You are an exception to every rule. Snow and -30 and there you are rolling around, feet up in the air, like it is a spring day. You always had to have the last word, you probably were sticking your tongue out at me when I was not looking lol. Playing with Grace and the soccer ball, remembering you actually playing volleyball. You showed off to the ladies at the canine fitness centre, they just couldn't believe you played volleyball and were good at it! Walks, the time we spent together was awesome, I feel you there. The weather has been overcast and cold but when Grace and I were there the sun was peaking out all four days. That warms my heart. Your swimming physiotherapy, every time in the pool an incredible smile, teaching the new employees the ropes. You are so subtle when training the girls to do it the Dollie way. I enjoyed your zest for life, you are such a loving and happy girl, even the last weeks. Egging Grace on to bark when playing with the ball, I know that you were getting even with her for getting you in trouble for barking outside ;). You are an awesome sister to Grace, you did well choosing her. Letting her cuddle and feel safe when she was a baby. Now she is an adult I see her protecting you! My best pictures are the ones where you both are sitting on the deck at the back door, side by side, enjoying being together. Imagine, a Border Collie scenic aerial tour, that was one of our coolest days ever. You acting like a twin prop plane was a normal mode of transportation. Riding in a frontend loader, on a bus, in a train, you were a world traveler. There are so many more moments to be thankful for. I will remember you with tears and laughter because the tears are inevitable but the laughter always comes back as well. (taken from a writer)
I love you with all my heart and to have done so is far better than what my life would be without you in it!
