Memories of Dickens
Dickens was special the moment he appeared in our lives. A scared, mangey, puppy came through our door. He blossomed into a wonderful, intelligent, sensitive, brave, playful, loving companion. A truer friend couldn't be found. He was a puppy 'til the day he died. His courage was amazing & he died with dignity. There will never be another like him in our lifetime. Dickens, we know that you will be waiting for us. Toby and Gracie miss you. DEAR DICKENS, we all miss you. It's been over a year. The loss of you is still almost unbearable. We see your sweet, quirky, smiling face & your zest for life in all of your pictures & in memories. We think about you every day. WE LOVE YOU FOREVER.
The 2nd Christmas without you is almost here. It's 2017. Toby & Gracie loved to open presents with you. A whole year without you is really hard to bear. Toby's doing a good job of filling in for you. It's not the same. We will all be together someday. Merry Christmas, dear boy. It's January & it just snowed. We remember how you loved to catch the snowflakes as they were falling. You loved to catch dust drifting in the sunlight in the house. Many wonderful memories. Toby & Gracie miss you too. We'll see you again some day. Leaves will soon be changing colors, Dickens,& we miss you. In 2 weeks it'll be 2 years since you left us. Gracie joined you on Mother's Day 2018. I know you were there to greet her, & you play with her at the Bridge. You 2 had so much fun playing together. Toby's sad & so lonely. He misses you 2 will. Not the same without the 3 of you together with us. I'm the saddest I have ever been. I pray you are watching us & not forgetting how much we love you & want to see you again. Christmas is near. We wish you were here. Toby misses you & Gracie. He's coping. Christmas is a sad time without our boy & girl. Pictures remind us of how wonderful you are. Specially you, Mr. Dickens. You brought such joy to our lives. Don't forget to wait for us, we will look for you first, then Gracie, and will delight in your sweet happy kisses. Merry Christmas, sweet boy and girl. May 2019. It isn't easier. You were so joyful and we miss that joy & boundless energy. Toby's here with us. He's older. He pines for you 2. Things are so quiet. Only memories & pictures remain. You & Princess Grace, please pause from playtime, look down on us, & wag your tails as you remember the wonderful times we shared, & will share again. Good bye for now, my sweet boy. Toby left us in Oct, 2019. You 3 are having great fun. It's hard for me. Your dad talks about how wonderful you are: the best, the smartest, the most handsome. It's May 2020, a year after Grace joined you, over 6 months since Toby joined you,& the heartache was too much for me. We added Fritz (a smaller version of you) on December 26th, & then Loki arrived April 17th of this year. They don't compare to you and Grace and Mr T. I know you are keeping an eye on them from above, when you pause from your playtime. You will have fun when they come to the bridge to meet you. Do not forget us. We love you. May 13, 2022. Now April, then September 2023 Nothing has changed. Wait for us, please!!! We love you forever.
