Memories of Cougar
Cougar was a member of a feral colony of cats that has been living on my mother's property since 1999. Cougar has a beautiful black coat that has a brilliant sheen. Cougar loved to sleep under the Hosta plants in my mother's yard during the summer months. At night time, she would go on excursions to explore the neighbors' yards. Cougar loved her toys, especially her scratch block. I set up a play-area on the patio with a green indoor-outdoor carpet and placed all of her toys on the carpet. Cougar would spend a lot of time on the carpet playing with her toys and her best friend Mr. Tiger. Everyday, I sprinkled catnip on the carpet. Cougar would roll around in the catnip so much that her black fur became covered in catnip. She liked to sleep in a big dog bed with Mr. Tiger. At Christmas time, Cougar would sit on the front lawn at night and stare at the Christmas lights and listen to the Christmas music coming from the neighbor's house. I am certain that right now, Cougar is trotting through sun-drenched meadows with her pals Winnie, Billie and Jake.
