I am so sorry to hear about your recent loss of Toby. Please find comfort in knowing that Toby is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. I am sure that Toby and Spooky have become good friends. You can visit with Spooky at: http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Spook002/resident.HTM Take Care, Susan

My deepest sympathies to you and your family on your loss. I do know what it is like to lose a loved one, whether Human or one of our special, furry babies. Having lost quite a few of my own and doing dog rescue, it is never easy. From my house of 8 furr babies, to yours, we wish you the best. If you ever need to write please do so. I will be there for you. They never leave us, we just don't see them any more. Their spirit lives on.

Dear Judy & Bob - our hearts go out to you during this time of grief. It is so very difficult to say goodbye to a beloved companion. Dear Toby - are you out there running around in the meadow at Rainbow Bridge? Have you found some squirrels to chase? Take some time dear Toby to send mommy and daddy some puppy dog smooches so they will know you are happy. Hugs to all of you from afar and may the warm memories you shared with Toby bring you comfort. Gyvel & Michael aka: Smylee's mommy and daddy

Toby- I remember that crazy day 4 years ago that we drove around LA looking for little "kennel house" place and mom fell in love with you. You had such a different personality and would jump up and give hugs with your paws. I would try to leave to go home and somehow get talked into taking you for a ride around the block because you didn't get to go anywhere that day. You were a great family member and we will all miss you very much. Watch over everyone and tell Aj, & Babe to run and play. I am sure that Lori and Tonya will find you soon to give you lots hugs and treats (but no car rides). I love you and will miss you!

Toby stole our hearts quickly upon his arrival at our home. His unique personality was unlike any I've ever seen before. His funny little "I want to go for a ride with you" dance, his ability to make his entire body tremble to let you know he desperately needed a piece of that cheese or a bite of that food that you had in your hand, his "sneeze" to let you know he wanted your attention, the sorrowful look he would make by laying his ears back and staring at you ... He was our defender and protector never failing to bark loudly and vigorously when strangers approached. He loved to sleep on a pillow in bed with our two other dogs. We'd often see covers mysteriously be flipped into the air only to find Toby trying to cover himself up and get comfortable. He loved nothing better than to curl up in your lap while you sat in a chair. He really enjoyed being with his people. He suddenly became seriously ill. He passed during surgery. He touched our hearts like no other. We miss him.

"The Fourth Day" - Martin Scot Kosins - But there will be, I assure you, a fourth day when-along with the memory of your pet-and piercing through the heaviness in your heart-there will come a realization that belongs only to you. It will be as unique and strong as our relationship with each animal we have loved, and lost. This realization takes the form of a Living Love-like the heavenly scent of a rose that remains after the petals have wilted, this love will remain and grow-and be there for us to remember, It is a love we have earned. It is the legacy our pets leave us when they go. And it is a gift we may keep with us as long as we live. It is a love which is ours alone. And until we ourselves leave, perhaps to join our beloved pets - it is a love that we will always possess. -From "Living Love" written by Martin Scot Kosins, Author of "Mays's First Rose" -

"The Third Day" - (Martin Scot Kosins) And on this day...when your friend eventually leaves you,you will feel as alone as a single star in the dark night. If you are wise you will let the tears flow as freely and as often as they must. If you are typical you will find that not many in your circle of family & friends will be able to understand your grief, or comfort you. If you are true to the love of the pet you cherished through many joy-filled uears, you may find that a soul - a bit smaller in size than your own - seems to walk with you, at times, during the lonely days to come. At moments when you least expect anything out of the ordinary to happen, you may feel something brush against your leg - very, very lightly. Looking down where your dear, perhaps dearest, friend used to lie-you will remember those three significant days. The memory will most likely be painful, and leave an ache in your heart. As time passes, the ache will come and go as it has a life of its own,

Toby - You are such a sweet looking guy and I know you were a great companion to the family! Send them some signs, and kisses from the Rainbow that you are safe, happy, healthy and will have many friends. Let Judy and Bob know that God has appointed you to be the guardian, protector to watch over them until they are called to the Bridge to join you one day. I will tell my Brande to find you and play with you. To Judy and Bob - I send my sincere sympathy to you over the loss of Toby. I too lost my soulmate not long ago, see Brande http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/BRAND167/Resident.htm - We know that God has promised we will be with our babies again one day. I leave this quote with you, "heaven is the only place where all the dogs and cats you have ever loved will come running to meet you." Author Unknown

Toby, what a handsome fellow you are! Please go to the Bridge and send your precious love down the Rainbow straight into the hearts of your mommy and daddy who miss you so much, and they will send their love right back to you on angels' wings. Judy & Bob, your world has lost a very special furperson, and heaven has gained a very special soul. Toby is now your very own angel, watching over and for you, just as BG is watching over us, until you meet again and cross the Bridge together. May his sweet love continually hug your hearts until then. Clare & Martha

Toby, what a beautiful angel you are. Enjoy your angel wings sweet boy, and soar high among the heavens. Lots of treat trees to enjoy, sunny places to nap, and lots of angels to run and play with. Toby, you were only held in your parents arms for a short time, but you will be held forever in their hearts. May you always find peace and happiness in Gods' loving arms. Judy & Bob, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I shed many tears for all of us. It is so hard to lose one so young. God Bless...

Hey there Toby...how are you today? You look like you could use some friends. There is a large group of Rotties to your left. Go over to them & tell them that I sent you. They would love to have you in their group. They will share everything they have. I hear they even have frosty paws. You will like them. Make sure you send your mommy & daddy some smooches so they know you are OK. To Judy & Bob...we know how your hearts are hurting right now. Your baby is at peace. You will see her again when it is time. Hold your memories close to your hearts. http://RainbowsBridge.com/Residents/URSA001/resident.htm or any of our other babies at the bridge.

Hello, handsome Toby, welcome to the forever sunny meadow by Rainbow Bridge. Your family loves and misses you so...they made you a beautiful place at RB. We asked our Pressy to welcome you and be a playmate to chase golden sunbeams and rainbows and give you her special kitty headbumps. She'll show you wonders of Paradise meadow and teach you to send love signs on the wind to your family so they feel your loving presence with them and sweet kisses in gentle evening breezes. You're now a guardian star shining brightly for them until they come to cross the Bridge together for all time. We ask they not be so sad but treasure memories of you and remember you're nestled beside your pawprints deep in their hearts forever. Play happy meadow games with the other furangels but stop often to smile at your family so they feel the warmth of your love and know you miss them too. Soar among the clouds now on silvery new angel wings to watch over your family always, beloved Toby. Pressy's Grandpa
