So sorry to hear of Shelby's passing. I will always remember her sweet bark to let you know that Bella, Tango, and I were coming up the back trail to your yard for a visit, or our nightly rides. When I entered your house how, I had to give her a treat before she would let me in. John, please find peace knowing what a wonderful loving life you gave her, and the joys, smiles, memories, and love she brought to you and everyone who had the privilege to meet her. They truly are part of our families and I do believe that we someday, we will see them again. My deepest sympathies my friend.

It's been over 6 weeks since you left us. It feels so much longer. Not a day goes by I don't miss you, my Shelby. I keep your picture on my fridge so I can see your beautiful face everyday. The first time I saw you I felt there was something special about you. Your wonderful daddy was kind enough to let me get to know you. I learned so much about you. How the first chapter of your life was unknown and how your daddy made sure the following chapters were all about giving you the best life possible. Your daddy always says, YOU rescued him. I miss you, my Shelby. I miss looking into your beautiful brown eyes, petting your soft fur and velvety ears. I miss you coming down the street for our nightly walks with neighbors and your "Pawsy" of friends. I miss giving you your biscuits and your sweet face looking out the door. Your quiet gentleness made you larger than life to me. A sweet little Beagle girl who stole my heart. I'll carry the memories of you with me forever.

John...a beautiful tribute to a great friend. Shelby is a beautiful girl. It is always hard to lose a furry young or old and I have lost both. But no matter what or for whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon leaving their forever pawprints within us. I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Shelby. Please find comfort in knowing that Shelby is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. I have lost several babies since Spooky's passing. Hannah 1/11/13, Sammi 8/2/13,Maci 4/9/14, Gabbi 3/20/17, Zoe 1/3/18, Willow 6/4/18, Shelby 6/12/18, Bear 11/17/19 and Bella and Murphy who were both tragically poisoned on 06/18/20.
