Ozzie, Mum and Daddy are so sad since you are not here with them anymore. They had to make a gut wrenching decision on Sunday but they did it for you buddy. They knew that you were suffering and although now your pain is over, theirs has just begun. You became so sick, so unexpectedly, and your little body just could not handle the battle you were now up against. They were willing to go through whatever it took to keep you here with them. Ultimately, it came to the point where it was time for you to go home and cross that bridge, to be with your best friend/brother Ziggy. Mum and Daddy knew when that time had come. Mum has not stopped thinking, crying, or talking about you. She and Daddy miss you so much. You filled their hearts and home with love and now they feel a void. On the other hand, they're happy your pain and suffering is now over. As are the rest of us. Although walking became hard for you at the end, I imagine you are running and playing up there!! Rest easy Oz. Fly High!

Butch & Sherry, I see from my records that I wrote for Ziggy who passed 6.4.16. Yes, it is possible that the loss of Ziggy affected Ozzie - meaning that you, his parents, had to end his suffering - the hardest thing we have to do for our beloved fur-children when life becomes intolerable for them through the unacceptable pain of cancer. I am sorry that Ozzie has left you so soon after Ziggy`s passing. And now you are bereaved again when there has been no time to recover from your loss of Ziggy. This is another family grief for you and your remaining fur-children and my heart goes out to all of you at this time. Thank you for rescuing Ozzie from a shelter and for giving him a good life - and the best care he could have at his ending: so often the painful responsibility of parents - the price of love we have to pay for all the years of unconditional love given to us by our beloved animal companions. May you be aware of Ozzie`s spirit with you always - loving you - till you meet again.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Ozzie. Please find comfort in knowing that Ozzie is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. On August 2, 2013 another one of my beautiful cats, Sammi, a black and white tabby, went to Rainbows Bridge. April 9, 2014, Maci, my English Bulldog passed over to Rainbows Bridge. Maci and Hannah were best friends. I am sure that Ozzie and my babies have all become good friends. You can visit with Spooky at: http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Spook002/resident.HTM Take Care, Susan

Butch and Sherry- Honoring. Celebrating. Remembering. A life well lived. May loving memories of Ozzie bring you comfort. It was the most unselfish act to say how much you loved your boy and were willing to feel the loss of a dear friend - yet you were not willing to let that friend suffer. Your grief will soften over time while it delivers an unsolicited lesson in patience, compassion, forgiveness, and resilience. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Please accept a pull rope I have placed at Rainbow Bridge to keep that connection -- never let go! And continue to journal to mend your broken heart.

You gave him a wonderful life and It is not easy losing our loving companions. I completely understand the pain and grief that you are experiencing and you are not alone. Would like to share this poem read during Princess Diana's memorial. "Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity." (Henry Van Dyke) Hope that the many memories of Ozzie will continually provide you with comfort, he will forever live in your heart and memories.
