You see butterflies and I find dog toys. My friend who painted a portrait of my pap girls sent a video today. She lost her border collie and her husband recently.

I have said goodbye to two Paps who died of Congestive Heart disease. It sounds cheap to say I feel your pain, but I certainly understand it.

Lucky’s story touched my heart, (crying over dogs on Twitter) and what you wrote after. We really don’t deserve these amazing dogs…you were lucky to have had each other.

I just read Lucky's memorial page. What you wrote and the story you shared is beautiful. So was Lucky, very much like our papillon Bailey, whom we lost yesterday after 13 1/2 wonderful years. I can tell that you still feel the pain of Lucky's loss even after a year and a half and that's understandable because dogs are the most noble and loyal companions mankind has. It's clear you wouldn't give up on him when he needed you, and we hope knowing that gives you solace. Lucky's flowers are very pretty, and like you said you've seen too many coincidences, so those are probably his way of giving something back to you in his own magical way. Take care.

Jim and Leila, I am sorry to know about your very special fur child Lucky. What a beautiful moving story you have experienced and shared. I do hope for you that your heart remains open to the signs Lucky is sending you in his new form. I have hummingbirds. I a not certain if it is my Bee but I am keeping my heart open that it is. With a heavy heart it is hard. I know all the many changes, adjustments and struggles you still face. Sending you thoughts of strength in the days that follow. Can't wait to look at your video you posted. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It gives me hope that my Bee still lives on and I will meet her again when the time is right.

Just a note to let you know I do share in the sadness of your loss of Lucky. I am not religious, but very spiritual in my thinking, and understand the importance of recognizing our precious spirits "talk" to us in many different ways. Blessings to you...

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Lucky. Please find comfort in knowing that Lucky is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. On August 2, 2013 another one of my beautiful cats, Sammi, a black and white tabby, went to Rainbows Bridge. April 9, 2014, Maci, my English Bulldog passed over to Rainbows Bridge. Maci and Hannah were best friends. On March 20, 2017 my sweet little calico Gabbi crossed over Rainbow's Bridge. I adopted her about a month after Spooky passed away and Gabbi also lived to be almost 16 years old. On 1/3/18 my little cat Zoe passed away. I am sure that Lucky and my babies have all become good friends. You can visit with Spooky at: http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Spook002/resident.HTM Take Care, Susan

Dear Jim and Leila, I am sorry for the loss of your precious and adorable Lucky. He is such a handsome boy and so lucky to have you take such good care of him for all those years. They may leave us physically but are always in our hearts. I think they take a piece of our heart with them. I wish you all the best in healing and hope that you find comfort in all of your excellent memories and time together. We share an amazing bond with our animal companions, and it's not something that every human understands. You are one of the Lucky ones... Sincerely, Patti
