"God gave us our memories so that we might have Roses in December." a quote by J.M. Barrie. May the memories of your blessed furangel, the ones that can't help but bring a smile to your face and a chuckle to your heart as you remember how your baby’s paw prints touched your life, be the ones that bloom in your heart this Holiday Season. My prayer for all of us this blessed season, is that each of our babies wrap up a special little sign for each one of us back here, and send it to us during the Holidays. May you catch a glimpse of your special sign, just when your heart needs it the most....And may each love-filled memory you have of your beloved Lucky bring to your heart the very warmth and sunshine of the Rainbow itself. That's just one "gift" your baby-angel would want for you this year...God bless, and best wishes for you and your family this Holiday Season, Karen (Dusty, DJ, Patches, and Momma’s mom) http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/DUSTY101/Resident.htm

Shirley & Larry, Lucky.. who was the lucky one right? Your story is such an inspiration..it's why I work with dog rescues. You went to a shelter to find your dog.. awesome! Now years later, years filled with wonderful memories and love, you question your decision. Please don't. You made the hardest decision any fur parent has to make and I'll bet Lucky was trying to tell you it was okay, he was ready to go to Rainbow Bridge. I've been there, we always second guess our choices because as humans we don't want to lose them. The memories that break your heart to remember now, will someday help your heart to heal. Hold onto them, cherish them.. healing takes time my friend.. the love we lose when we have to send a pet to the Bridge is ENORMOUS. Please don't beat yourself up. You gave Lucky a wonderful home, lots of love and the choice to go with dignty. He loves you for it.. trust me. RIP LUCKY.. you def were lucky!

Shirley/Larry...Lucky is a beautiful boy and was very "Lucky" to have you as his forever family. It is never easy to lose a furry young or old and I have lost both. For whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon while leaving their forever pawprints within us.Lucky is now healthy and playing with Oreo,Ralph and Eva while waiting for us to join them on the Bridge.I can send you my babies sites if you wish to visit..take care..

Your story is so beautiful about Lucky, what a lucky little guy he was. My Kaney passed on 8/3, it has been devastating as well...my condolences to you and lucky's loved ones. I'm sure Kaney welcomed Lucky as Kaney is still searching for some new friends I'm sure. I hope Lucky enjoys hamburgers and cupcakes because I am sure Kaney would love to share his favorites!

After reading your loving words for Lucky, I became overwhelmed with emotion too. As I had the honors of knowing & loving Lucky also... I'll never forget the time I dog sat for Lucky & LULU in Sacramento...Everyone had a deep respect for Lucky because he was very protective of his family around guests. However, Lucky made me feel very welcome and invited me into his home with a big hug! He spent most of the weekend on my lap and all night next to me in bed...Found out later that Lucky wasn't suppose to be on that bed but we didn't care...we were happy and I felt so safe with him in a unfamiliar town...From then on, Lucky became my favorite pet when I visited Shirley & Larry. Think altogether we had 10 bassets in the house when all the puppies came...So many memories of all they love in their home!!! Lucky, you will be forever missed by everyone you invited into your life!!! Love you always. Debi Taormina

What a beautiful memorial about Lucky ! And he was one lucky boy to have found you, as you were for him. It is so hard to be without them, and I know what you mean about thinking of them.i just lost my Lucky, and my Spongebob, two months apart. Spongebob passed from a collapsed trachea, a very sudden death, and Lucky passed from kidney failure. He too was sick for two weeks, and we tried everything to make him better. In the end, he was suffering, and I had to make the decision to let him go. Hardest decision ever. I want to think about them, but when I do, I get too upset. But I want to think about them. Just don't know what to do. Take care Shirley and David

Hello, handsome Lucky, welcome to the sunny meadow by Rainbow Bridge. Mommy and Daddy love and miss you...they made you a beautiful place and wrote loving words about you. We asked our Pressy to welcome you and be a playmate to chase sunbeams and rainbows and give you special kitty love headbumps. She'll show you wonders of Paradise meadow and teach you to send love signs on the wind so Mommy and Daddy feel your loving presence with them and sweet kisses in gentle breezes. You're now a guardian star shining brightly until they come to cross the Bridge together for all time. We ask they not be so sad but treasure your memory and remember you're nestled beside your pawprints deep in their hearts forever. Play meadow games with furangels but stop often to smile at Mommy and Daddy so they feel the warmth of your love surround them and know you miss them and are with them. Soar among clouds on silvery new angel wings to watch over Mommy and Daddy always, beloved Lucky. Pressy's Grandpa

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Lucky. Please find comfort in knowing that Lucky is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. Spooky never met Hannah but I am sure Spooky greeted Hannah at the bridge. On August 2, 2013 another one of my cats, Sammi went to Rainbows Bridge. I am sure that Lucky, Spooky, Hannah, and Sammi have all become good friends. You can visit with Spooky at: http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Spook002/resident.HTM Take Care, Susan

Dear Shirley and Larry, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your baby Lucky, My heart goes out to you for I know the pain and all the questions that are left, did you do the right thing? Should you of given him more time? etc... I went throw the same thing with my Rufus and to this day after almost 16 months I still have the "what ifs," just try and take some comfort in knowing that your beautiful Lucky is healthy and running around and playing with my Rufus and Diana and all his new fur friends at the bridge and he is waiting on you both. May God Bless you and Keep you Strong, always Lisa-Rufus & Diana's Mom

Dear Shirley and Larry, After reading your story of your wonderful Lucky I was deeply touched. I know how difficult this time is for you, I understand. Did you do the right thing, make the right decision? Yes, my friends, you did. I can relate to this as we kept our dearest Boston Terrier Camilla longer than we should have. Camilla was our friend for over thirteen years and parting with our friends is not easy. If you will just take a moment, close your eyes, and think of Lucky. See your dear friend, running, playing, enjoying new playmates at Rainbow Bridge. Look, he is no longer coughing, his legs are strong and his health is excellent. Rainbow Bridge is happiness, joy, health and beautiful sunshine. There see him, his tail is wagging. He thanks you for caring for him and for allowing him to leave when he had his home at Rainbow Bridge waiting for him.

Dear Shirley & Larry I'm sorry for the loss of your Lucky. What a beautiful tribute for a perfect friend. I lost my Finnbar in December.I understand how hard it is to say goodbye.I also know how crippling the grief can be. When its time you'll be together again just as it should be.Until then Lucky is waiting for you at the bridge happy and healthy. He's young again and even more perfect than you remember. He's got new places to explore so much space to run like the wind all the good treats and when he needs a break, meadows to lie in the sun. He's having a ball with his new friends all the while still keeping an eye on you. I hope he's met Finn by now. He's a friendly little cat but he's scrappy and he can catch. If you would care to visit my Finnbar http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/FINNB001/Resident.htm

For sweet Lucky, I know that during your lifetime you gave Shirley and Larry much joy. Now I am wishing for you lots and lots of happiness at Rainbows Bridge. From looking at the beautiful residency that Shirley and Larry created just for you and reading what was written for and about you it is obvious that you came from a very warm and loving home. Lucky I have a wonderful playmate for you. His name is Pedro and he is adorable just like you. I know you two will be very good friends. For Shirley and Larry, I just visited Lucky's Rainbows Bridge residency and wanted to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I am sure if asked, Lucky would have said that every day spent with you was a blessing. Having lost my little boy Pedro I can understand how you must be feeling and how much you must miss Lucky. Wishing you both all the very best always, Rosalind (Pedro's Mom)
