I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Laika. Please find comfort in knowing that Laika is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th, 2001, after 16 wonderful years with her. I have lost several babies since Spooky's passing. Hannah 1/11/13, Sammi 8/2/13, Maci 4/9/14, Gabbi 3/20/17, Zoe 1/3/18, Willow 6/4/18, Shelby 6/12/18, Bear 11/17/19, Bella and Murphy who were both tragically poisoned on 06/18/20, and Firefly 12/20/22. Neil.. a beautiful tribute to a great friend. Laika is a beautiful girl with a great smile. It is always hard to lose a furry young or old and I have lost both. But no matter what or for whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon leaving their forever pawprints within us. Be sure to know she is happy, healthy and playing with Oreo, Ralph and Eva while waiting for us to join them at the Bridge. I can send you my babies sites if you wish to visit..take care.. Laika was a very big dog who thought she was a small dog. She loved to cuddle up on or beside you on the couch and wouldn't fall asleep until she was sufficiently nestled beside you in bed. I remember the first night we brought her home I slept with her so she wouldn't be scared in the new environment. I didn't get any sleep because she was curled up under my arm in an awkward way and kept tossing and turning around in circles throughout the night, before grunting and flopping back down again. Only to find a new position a few hours later. A couple of evenings before she passed I had one last cuddle with her in bed and it was lovely but absolutely heartbreaking. It's hard to believe she is gone. I miss her so much and wish I could cuddle with her again. She also had the softest ears ever and the deepest sweetest brown eyes.

Proverbs 12:10 States: A righteous man regards the life of his beast. Am so sorry about your loss. Just remember this.... Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together,completely healed. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers.... You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together..... Dearest Laika, I only knew you for a few months but I cherish that time I got to spend with you. I looked forward to our walks each week, seeing your excited face and happy tail wagging when I arrived. You were a very good and loving dog.
