Dear Patti, Having been a dog owner/lover all my life, I know the deep heartache we feel when we lose one so precious to us. My heart is saddened with yours in your loss of Lacey. Time does pass and I think although we never forget, the sadness does lift and what we have left are those joyful memories that will make us laugh and smile again as we think of those furbabies and unconditional love they give us. May your heart heal. Blessings, Dianna

Hi Patti. Your posted memories of Lacey brought tears to my eyes. It reminds me of my own sweet girl who I lost to lung cancer on June 15. I can understand the pain, the devastation of losing such a beloved fur baby. Our fur babies always seem to be the best givers of all that life offers in the way of love, comfort, peace, joy. Even with world chaos, with them our side we have peace, contentment. Your love for Lacey was deep. She was cherished and I'm sure she knew this. As you tried hand feeling Lacey I likewise tried hand feeding my own sweet girl. Letting go is unimaginably difficult but necessary though that is easier said than done. I use to so much want for my girl to have more time but then, I realize that regardless of how much that would be it would not make the loss any less difficult. Patti, we shall once again see our sweet girls when they help cross the Rainbows Bridge.

I am so sorry for your loss of Lacey. My heart goes out to you as I know you are struggling so with the loss of your precious baby. Your world has lost a very special baby, family member and friend, but the heavens have welcomed home a very special soul. Earth’s loss is heaven’s gain. I know you had a special relationship with Lacey that will always be a part of you. I pray that my sweet little girl, Bailey, found Lacey and they have become friends. May the precious love you shared with Lacey continue to warm your heart and I hope you find peace and comfort knowing that your love will bind you together forever. Peace and blessings to you. My precious Bailey left our world December 5th, 2013 and we miss her so. Please visit my Bailey at http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/BAILE364/Resident.htm

For sweet Lacey, I know that during your lifetime you gave Patti much joy. Now I am wishing for you lots and lots of happiness playing in the meadows beyond the Rainbow Bridge. From looking at your photo and reading what Patti wrote for and about you it is obvious that you came from a very warm and loving home. Lacey, I have a wonderful playmate for you. His name is Pedro and he is adorable just like you. I know you two will be very good friends. For Patti, I just visited your Lacey's Rainbows Bridge residency and wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your precious Fur Angel. I am sure if asked, Lacey would have said that every day spent with you was a blessing. Having lost my little dog Pedro I can understand how you must be feeling and how much you must miss Lacey. Wishing you all the very best always, Rosalind (Pedro's Mom).

Patti: Lacey was your 'life witness'. She saw you through the darkest moments and moments that were joyful. Her love for you was in a league all its own. Sadness serves an important function-it takes the focus of our attention away from the world so we can begin the mental reset. Allow time, patience and self-care during the grieving process which can feel so overwhelming. In moving forward, embrace the pain and burn it as fuel for your journey to healing...and you will heal. Lacey earned her wings KNOWING she was loved...and that is no greater honor. Hold her deep within...
