What a precious little man!! I know exactly how you feel. I don't understand why our furbabies can't live as long as we do. Perhaps our loss is another's gain. We learn to love through compassion and tenderness. It's a really hard lesson!!!

Dear sweet Harry, you are so beautiful and now you are renewed, young, healthy, happy and free from all your pain. Bless you little man for loving your momma so and bless you Linda for loving Harry so much. You did nothing wrong, things happen and yes, we ask why, one day you will know the answer, but for now you have his memories and his love shining down on you from Heaven above. For sure that is Harry's star you see and it shines there to guide you on your way, to see you through the dark and lonely times. This love comes at a price, we give them the gift of peace when they have given us all they have and when there is nothing left. We let them go, on to a better place to wait for us and to be free. His heart lives in yours and he has a piece of you with him always. I'm sure that Zak and Harley found him along with all the other precious ones there, they are ALL friends and they are all at peace. Until you meet again, I wish you peace in your heart. Zara, Zak and Harley's mom xx

I am crying now. Linda, it sounds to me that Harry had a lot of residual trauma from the cruel hands that had him before you. His resistance may have been down so much that the shot was just too much of an overload. You loved and cared for him and saw that what days he had with you were kind and happy. May in time the pain ease and you remember the good times. Harry can never be replaced, just as a human can not be. You are wise to want to get another puppy to give your love too (you have a lot and it shows in Harry's page). You did a GOOD thing for Harry and never feel you did anything to shorten his life. Without your care, he would have had an even shorter, cruel life!!!!! Kathleen

My deepest sympathies to you on your loss. I do know what it is like to lose a loved one, whether Human or one of our special, furry babies. Having lost quite a few of my own and doing dog rescue, it is never easy. From my house of 8 furr babies, to yours, we wish you the best. If you ever need to write or talk on the phone please let me know. I will be there for you. They never leave us, we just don't see them any more. Their spirit lives on. Pat Lively

Linda, that is such a wonderful tribute to Harry. Nobody could have loved him more. He really picked the right family. It reminded me of all those things I did to try to make Todd's life better/happier during the years he was sick. You took special care of Harry and he appreciated it. I know this time is just the worst and nothing I say can really console you. Just know that all of us here at least understand how you are feeling since we have lost sweet fur babies (or feathered babies or even scaley babies:)) Just look for the signs Harry sends you to let you know he is still around and you can talk to him any time. My thoughts are with you.

The minute I saw Harry at the Bridge today, I cried. I think it's just sunk in for me that he really is gone.He is without pain and he is waiting for you to come someday. Harry "the little fighter" will always have a place in my heart. Be strong, for you know you will see him again.

Dear Linda, Very sorry on your loss of Harry. You did love him one great deal i bet.You have written him a beautiful tribute. Harry is now with all the furbabies and is free from pain and you know the best part, he can see perfectly well now . THERE is no illness at RB, he must be playing happily with my german shepherd Reine who went there on feb 27.God bless.

a thought has stuck me, Linda...the saying that sweetly says "If you love something, set it free"...well, you had the courage to set Harry free, didn't you. You were ready, and knew your baby was ready, too. Then somewhat unexpectedly, you described that he surprised you with his last breath on his own. Perhaps, it was his parting gift to you, as he, too loved you enough to set you free. And certainly, your dear sweet Harry, has earned his angel wings... and remember that instantly upon arrival at the Rainbow his health and vigor were renewed! So, with his new found eyesight, he will watch over you faithfully until your joyous reunion at the Rainbows Bridge. With my heartfelt sympathy in your loss, Dusty' Mommy
