"God gave us our memories so that we might have Roses in December." a quote by J.M. Barrie. May the memories of your blessed furangel, the ones that can't help but bring a smile to your face and a chuckle to your heart as you remember how your baby’s paw prints touched your life, be the ones that bloom in your heart this Holiday Season. My prayer for all of us this Christmas season, is that each of our babies wrap up a special little sign for each one of us back here, and send it to us during this blessed season. May you catch a glimpse of your special sign, just when your heart needs it the most....And may each love-filled memory you have of your beloved Garfield bring to your heart the very warmth and sunshine of the Rainbow itself. That's just one "gift" your baby-angel would want for you this year...Best wishes for you and your family this Holiday Season, Karen (Dusty, DJ, Patches, and Momma’s mom) http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/DUSTY101/Resident.htm

Alison, so sorry for your loss. Saying goodbye is never easy.....those little furry companions definitely steal our hearts and souls. They are so precious and are truly one of God's greatest gifts. Take comfort in that their love for us goes on as our love for them does for eternity. I am sure that the memories of this precious member will be with you always. We also lost our adorable little pug, Nikki Mae, who was the light of our lives for more than 14 wonderful years. We are sure that Garfield and Nikki Mae have become good friends and are now having so much fun playing and running again. Please visit our Nikki Mae at: http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/NIKKI115/Resident.htm

My deepest sympathies to you on your loss. I do know what it is like to lose a loved one, whether Human or one of our special, furry babies. Having lost quite a few of my own and doing dog rescue, it is never easy. From my house of 8 furr babies, to yours, we wish you the best. If you ever need to write please do so. I will be there for you. They never leave us, we just don't see them any more. Their spirit lives on.

Alison, I just visited Garfield, he was a handsome guy but far to young to leave you, I don't understand why such things happen to such beautiful little creatures. I know the pain and loss you feel today, I lost my Bichon, Amor 5 weeks ago suddnly, she was 11, the autopsy showed she had cancer, what a shock, what a loss, I still see her evrywhere and think of her everyday. I know that one day we will remember them with smiles and not tears, remembering all the love and joy they gave us so freely. Until then, our homes and hearts will be empty, but they will always be in our hearts. Take care, God bless, Eleanor

Garfield, What a precious baby you were, always so loyal and loving.Y ou taught and gave your mommy so much that she now knows the true meaning of unconditional love. She longs for the day to be able to hold you and to look into your eyes again.I know just how grateful you are for all of love and care in which she provided you.She misses you baby, so very much. I know that you don't want her to be sad for too long, but instead, be happy. For you are happy, content at peace and have been surrounded by so many others who also love and adore you, including my Shayna Girl, Leche and Si. I extend my deepest condolences to you for the loss of Garfield. I know just how painful it is to have lost your angel, for, I too, lost mine. Please vist my Shayna Girl at: http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/SHAYN005/Resident.htm. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Until we are with our babies again. Shayna, Leche and Si's mommy, Lisa

I am very sorry for your loss of beautiful Garfield. I know the loss and the pain that you feel. I lost my boxer girl Roxie, of seven years to cancer this past January. Like you, I had to give her the final gift of love. To let her go and be free of pain. I believe this is one of the hardest and bravest thing one would ever have to do. Garfield knows how much you loved him and will be forever greatful and for that he would only want you to remember him with a smile or a laugh not tears. He will be your guardian angel until the day you can reunite.

I am so sorry for you loss. I had to make the same decision for my precious Dixie one week ago today. Just a couple of days later my guilt was all-consuming. I truly, know how you feel. I wish that I could offer you some magic to heal your heart. I do offer you my prayers. Your Garfield was so beautiful and his suffering has gone. He now knows a place with no pain, only beauty and happiness. He is thankful to you for letting him go to the Bridge. Hugs and comfor to you, Alison. http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/DIXIE063/Resident.htm

My hearts goes out to you. I know how hard it is to lose our special friends, and then having to make children understand just doubles the pain. I think it's especially heartbreaking when we make the decision to let them go, but I think they are so glad that they did - they only worry about what it will do to us, but we're strong and we will go on and remember them every day and it gets easier, but we never forget. I hope that the memories you have will bring you comfort.

Dear Alison, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful Garfield. I understand the pain that you are feeling. We recently lost our beautiful girl, Lady, a 14 year old Akita. We too, had to put her to rest to end her pain, it was the hardest decision we had to take but I know that it would have been selfish of us to have kept her longer. The last 3 months of her life she was taking a total of 18 pills a day, for pain, incontinence etc etc. Before Lady, there was Sheena, a wonderful red Doberman, she had breast cancer and went through a series of operations, chemo and natural medications which help her live cancer free for the last three years of her life, she died of liver failure. I swore I would never, ever had another dog after her and then 6 months later there was wonderful Lady and now we are going through the same thing again. You cannot replace any of these wonderful beings and it does take some time until you are ready for another one to come steal your heart. Ana

Garfield - You are most handsome with that golden fur coat! Send your family some signs, kisses from the Rainbow to let them know that you are safe, happy, healthy and will have many friends. Let mom and dad know that God has appointed you to be the guardian, protector to watch over them until they are called to the Bridge to join you one day. I will tell my Brande to find you and play with you. To Alison - I send my heartfelt sympathy to you all over the loss of Garfield. I too lost my soulmate not long ago, see Brande at http://www.rainbowbridge.com/residents/BRAND167/Resident.htm - We know that God has promised we will be with our babies again one day. I leave this quote with you, "heaven is the only place where all the dogs and cats you have ever loved will come running to meet you." Author Unknown
