I just lost my Allie 3 days ago and somehow found this site and your journal of Brutus. I read and cried through the whole thing. In this sometimes cruel world, it's beautiful that someone loves there beloved pet so much.

Hello,Quite enjoyed your wtiebse and will visit again when I have more time.I have been researching the Comrie's and Malcolm McFarlane's for many years. Originally started on the Comrie's through my Grandfather John Francis Comrie. Spent many summers in Keene and at my Uncles Ross' farm.My grandmother Maggie May (McFarlane) Comrie left a number of pages on the McFarlane decsendents so could not resist to do this family also.I believe I met Fern Doris at Harry & Margaret Hamley's many years ago for dinner. This certainly brought back many memories.Coline McInnes

"God gave us our memories so that we might have Roses in December." a quote by J.M. Barrie. May the memories of your blessed furangel Brutus Leroy, the ones that can't help but bring a smile to your face and a chuckle to your heart as you remember the way your baby's tender love touched your life, be the ones that surround you this Holiday Season. My prayer for each of us this Christmas season, is that each of our babies wrap up a special little sign for each one of us back here, and send it to us this Holiday season. May you catch a glimpse of your special sign, just when your heart needs it most.... And may each love-filled memory you have of your beloved furbaby bring to your heart the very warmth and sunshine of the Rainbow itself. That's just one "gift" your fur-angel would want for you this year ... With best wishes for you and your family this Holiday Season, Karen (Dusty, DJ & Patches' mom) http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/DUSTY101/Resident.htm

I would just like to say I am very sorry for the loss of your Brutus. He was a beautiful boy! I too, love Rotties. I have 2 now, we had to put our Mindy down because she was too sick. Just know that he is still with you and that he watches over you. There is no greater love than that of a pet.

Brutus you are a beautiful boy and will live in the hearts of your family forever. Please make sure you send mom and dad signs that you are okay, they miss you so much. Keith & Lisa I am so sorry for your loss. As I read your story the tears started flowing because I can relate to the spleen tumors and missing the opening of the presents. I will tell my Saber to find Brutus so they can pal around together. They have alot in common. If you get a chance please visit her at http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/SABER001/Resident.htm

Keith and Lisa, I am so very sorry about your loss. Your probably saying wo are you and how do you know about our Brutus? I wondered the same thing. My Casey died on Feb 11, 2009. I have gotten so many emails from people I don't even know and I wonder how did they know about Case? Well, I figured it out, I think. I think they volunteer to send condolences to people like you and me who have just lost our pets. I just went to all the letters on the top of the page and put in Rotties. There have been to that have joined the Rainbow Bridge since me. Brutus was beautiful and I have no doubt that in his short life here on earth he gave far more than he took. Did you ever think when you got him as just a little baby he would grow to be so big and powerful? I have had several Rotties but never one like Casey. She was unique and very very special. I cry all the time and I miss her so so very much. Once again, please accept my condolences for your loss of a very special boy. Lauren

Brutus you were such a big beautiful baby and how much your Mommy and Daddy loved you. I hope you have met my Max and Maggie. Max we lost in June of 2007 and Maggie in Aug 2008 to bone cancer. Lisa and Keith, I am so sorry for your loss I know just how you feel. I have lost my Max and Maggie recently to cancer and I still have Maggie's son Rudy who has just been diagnosed with bone cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Know you are not alone. Natasha

I'm so sorry about your precious baby. I lost my sweet girl Beanie 6 months ago yesterday and it seems like it just happened. I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but it doesn't. I got another sweet rottie from a rescue. I hope after time you'll find it in your hearts to give another rottie a special place in your hearts and home. I enjoed your pictures even though it makes me cry.

Keith and Lisa, So sorry for your recent loss. Brutus was a beautiful dog and it is never easy to say good-bye. I cried reading your story of his last day and I didn't even know him. I just know how much it hurts to lose such a wonderful loving companion like you had with Brutus. I have been through it more than once and it never gets easier. Time is the best healer, and the memories will last all of your life. You gave him the best life he could have ever had. Remember that always. Sincerely, Nancy Schomberg

I am so sorry about your beloved Brutus. I feel your grief now too as we had to put down our Golden Retriever mix, Bizkit down on Saturday. He had Hemangiosarcoma too. After reading up on it some more I can't believe the public isn't made more aware of it as it is so common. Hoping your hearts heal soon.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. Losing a pet that is one of the family is very hard to go through. The most important part is that you were near him when he passed, and the last thing he saw was you before he jumped over to the bridge. Brutus' memories were of you and family, something he can hold on to, till he is reunited with the ones he loves more than anything else at the Bridge. He will never forget you, and I know you will always love and remember him.
