I never understood why people like pets so much. they can be dirty, expensive, they dont really communicate or relate to people. but sitting here thinking about it, I think I got. animals just accept us how we are. they show people love with out question or doubt. which is a very rare quality to find in humans these days. no matter what you look like, no matter how horrid your past was, pets accept you. it feels good to be needed by someone too. people need to be needed. people could learn from the innocence and carefreeness of animals. I remember the big dark eyes of my dog when he got hit by a car, staring up at me, naive, not understanding the seriousness of his situation. I left him there on my neighbors lawn to go to school, it was the last time I saw him.
