| The day we said good-bye almost one year ago was so hard. We knew in our heart you would never be well again. You were suffering and we had to say good-bye. God had blessed us with a friend we will never forget. You were loved by so many people. I spent alot of time with you that day, trying not to cry but explaining things and being honest with you. You understood all I said. You looked at me sadly and only wanted to stop hurting. You had so much class Beary. You wouldn't eat, but I said that was O.K. You could eat in Heaven later with Papa. I told you where you were going. I didn't want you afraid. And you weren't. I think you knew God. You'd heard me talking to Him enough. Daddy stayed with you when the Dr. put you to sleep. I'm so sorry I couldn't stay. I had hoped not to cry so badly but it was too hard. I helped him put you in the car to come home. You looked like an angel sleeping. I stroked you all the way home and stayed with you while Daddy made your casket in his workshop. We buried you with your pillow and toys like your beloved Joe Camel. Then we covered you so you wouldn't be cold. We kissed you one last time and buried you in our backyard. You will always be with us and never be forgotten. We should be celebrating your 7th birthday here on Earth, but instead you celebrate in Heaven. You are not alone. Gramma and Papa are with you; Zoozie, Cleo and Alex too. Happy Birthday Beary!
