| We took you, Shelli, From the ones who didn't care. You and the other baby pups, We just couldn't leave you there. We loved you, Shelli, Your life had a rocky start. You gave us so much love. You were our "Baby Sweetheart" We needed you, Shelli, You helped your Papa when he was ill. He could always count on you, You would kiss him, then lay there still. We wept for you, Shelli, When your sickness became too much. Your little body became weaker, And your food you wouldn't touch. We prayed for you, Shelli, But a cure was not to be. Our lives were so much richer, Because you were with Papa and me. We talk to you, Shelli, Although you may not hear. We need to say your name out loud, It seems to keep you near. We will see you, Shelli, And in Heaven, we'll all meet. Our Lord will make a home for us. You and Shadow will rest at His feet. We miss you so much, Shelli, You were our most special friend. Though you are no longer with us here, Our love for you will never end. Thank you, Shells, for over 13 years of unconditional Love. |
