Beautiful Sadness

With no expectations
They come to you
They have no idea
What you will do

But they have faith
A faith so complete
And it's unconditional
To them it's no feat

You live and you love
And you give everything
And they give it back
And they love all you bring

To say goodbye
Is the hardest thing
But to never feel it
What joy could that bring?

The pain is rough
But you wouldn't feel it without the joy
That they bought every day
And didn't even need a toy

Through all the sadness
It makes you see
That not to feel pain
Would mean that you were never free

To love so much
A best friend, a feeling so high
You would never feel the sorrow
For when they must die

All the memories, so great
Even through the distress
All the wonderful memories
Bring a beautiful sadness
