A Letter to Padfoot

Everytime I leave the house, I would walk by your kennel to bid you goodbye and you would kiss my hand. This was our routine. But yesterday, I knew something was wrong. You've been a good friend Padi. Remember how you enjoy the nights I would walk you along the "boulevard"? We had to stop doing that, you were too strong for me. At one time, something caught your attention, you pulled me and I almost stumbled to the ground. How about the times we would let you out to play? That ceased too. You were so friendly you approached our neighbor's dog but he bit your ear in return. My tears fell when you were brought home bleeding. I wanted to protect you from hostile dogs, that was why you were never allowed pass the gate since then. Padi, Ate Alma didn't love you less, she just loves Pugsley more. I hope you didn't resent being 2nd best. For me, you were my first and only 2nd best. I know you loved Pugsley too.His disinterest to play with you was because he is beyond the play stage. But hey, he did check on you everyday. That was probably his way of showing his affection. You're in a better place now Padi. Run as far and as fast as you can. Show off your shiny brown coat, your regal walk and your gallop-like run. But after, you can't come back to me with those happy eyes and wagging tail to say it's time to go home. You are home now Padi.Hedwig is there to take care of you. Goodbye my dear Padi. We will miss you. (T_T) |
