Forever Here, Forever Loved

The morning rays shine softly
Upon the pillow that is yours,
Melting away the snowflakes that, like you,
Are here and gone, but return they will.

Flying across the sky on the wings of the wind
The wispy clouds dance,
And there you are among them
Here and gone, but certain to return.

In evening's first star we see you,
Yearning to greet the moonlight
Cascading silently through velvet night
Here and gone, but sure to return.

A glimpse of you made old things new
Brought smiles and songs and rhyme,
An autumn leaf, a lightning flash
Here and gone, but destined to return.

Precious memories we have
To share through passing time,
Always in our hearts, always in our minds,
Ever in our life, ever by our side.

From the dawn you came
Warming our hearts, brightening our nights and days;
Into the sunrise you walked on Easter morn,
Yet forever here, yet forever loved
And certain to return -- forever.
