Memories of Yoshi Bruce
Yoshi was a special little guy. He may not have been very pleasant towards other dogs or people but he loved *his* people with all his heart. I will miss the way he used to howl at the door when he heard my car pull up after work. He had a voracious appetite and would eat just about anything you gave him. We used to joke that no one had ever taught him how to "dog". He didn't like to play with toys, chew on bones or run around the dog park like his brother Monty. He would much rather curl up in his favourite humans'lap. One thing I'm going to miss is taking naps with him. He gave the best snuggles.
Yoshi was my best friend. When I had a bad stomach virus once, he refused to leave my side. He stayed with me and comforted me until I felt better. He kept me company when I did homework and when I was cooking dinner (even though I am sure he just wanted scraps). When Alex was gone on deployment or TDY he was there to make sure my bed wasn't empty. Now my house feels empty and quiet without him.
Time heals all wounds they say. I know one day I'll be able to think about him without crying. Though his soul has departed this earth and he has left his broken body behind, he lives on in my heart.
