Winter Snow was one of four puppies in the litter, the biggest of the pups. He and his brother, Dusty Brown, came to live with me when they were only 8 weeks old. From the start, Winter Snow was eager to be with his human (me). He spent countless days as my sofa companion, watching TV with me or just laying nearby. He had a soft, snugly coat and he enjoyed being petted and hugged. Winter Snow developed an abnormal gait in his first year that led to him developing chronic lesions on his back paws. Despite often having tender spots, Winter Snow enjoyed running in the yard, chasing the backyard birds, and barking at the dog next door through the fence. He never let his condition stop him from enjoying being a dog! Winter Snow ultimately developed a skin disease that ate away at the tissue on his rear paws. When the vets suggested that he would require a double amputation, I decided that it would be cruel to make him live his life as an invalid. I made the tough decision to put him to sleep so that he would end his life here as a happy dog, knowing that he was loved. I will miss Winter Snow and his loving companionship. His brother, Dusty Brown, lived another year with me until he joined Winter Snow over the Rainbow Bridge on August 15, 2019. I pray that the two of them are running and barking with joy in heaven and snuggling together for naps in the eternal sunshine of God's love. I will carry the memory of Winter Snow in my heart always. I love you, Winter Snow, and I thank you for your love for me. Please also visit Dusty Brown. |
