MERRY CHRISTMAS little one. This is your first Christmas at the bridge. I know the ANGELS will make sure that Santa comes to visit you & that your stocking is full to the brim. YOU ARE LOVED TO THE MOON & BACK!!! xoxo 11.25.2009... HAPPY THANKSGIVING sweet girl... xoxo TIGER LILY... a name from the children's movie "PETER PAN." Let me tell you a little bit about "TIGER LILY", the pixie from Peter Pan. Tiger Lily is the PRINCESS of the Piccaninny Indian Tribe(american indians), living on the island of NEVERLAND. Tiger Lily is nearly killed by the mean CAPTAIN HOOK when she's seen boarding the Jolly Roger, but Peter Pan saves her. Then Tiger Lily is kidnapped by the mean CAPTAIN HOOK & SMEE(hooks sidekick pirate). Captain Hook wants to know where Peter Pan is but she remains silent, refusing to betray her new friend, Peter Pan. Peter Pan saves Tiger Lily & he returns her to her tribe. Later, Tiger Lily shows her affection towards Peter Pan by giving him a kiss. Now THAT'S a HAPPY ENDING for the Tiger Lily of Peter Pan, the movie. This TIGER LILY has a different story. And a NOT SO HAPPY ending. No Peter Pan to save her. No Tinkerbelle to rescue her & take her to Neverland. Not even Capt. Hook. And the person that took this Tiger Lily's life, makes Captain Hook look like an ANGEL. Here is TIGER LILY the kittie's story*** On May 6th, 2009, Tiger Lily's day probably started off like any other day. She woke up after sleeping next to her owner all night. She probably went potty like most kitties. She probably sat very patiently, or not, while her owner got her(tiger lily) breakfast ready & filled her water bowl with fresh, cold water. She then probably found her favorite toy, maybe a catnip-filled mouse or one of those little balls with the bell in it. She probably played until she was so tired, she had to take a little CAT nap. Tiger Lily knew her owner would have to leave for the day so she probably followed her around the apartment, trying to get a little extra love, rubbing up against her owners leg. Maybe she even meowed "I LOVE YOU" to her owner. What happened next is UNBELIEVEABLE. How ANYONE could ever do what this person did, I will never understand. Tiger Lily's owner, at one time, was friends with a certain person. I am guessing that this person had a "falling out" with Tiger Lily's owner. That's the only explanation for what this person did to Tiger Lily. And even a "falling out" doesn't constitute what took place. It's more like PURE EVIL. On May 6th, a certain person BROKE into Tiger Lily's apartment. This person & an accomplice TRASHED the apartment. They slashed the furniture... threw bleach on the walls... unscrewed the lightbulbs... & stole some DVD's & some food. But what they did to Tiger Lily... well that's the unthinkable part. Tiger Lily was placed in the OVEN. And then they turned the oven ON. According to police reports, "they cranked the oven on." HOW COULD ANYONE DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT??? The suspect, Cheyanne Cherry, is 17. She's already a criminal with a lengthy criminal background. She was, at one time, the roommate of Tiger Lily's owner. The suspect told investigators "I hate cats." Her confession came AFTER she was arrested by the AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS. She told police that "we thought we would play a JOKE on Valerie & mess up her apartment." Authorities said the duo "bolted from the apartment" because they didn't want to HEAR the cat crying & scratching at the oven door. Firefighters found Tiger Lily's lifeless body smoldering in the oven AFTER neighbors complained of smoke coming from the apartment. ASPCA assistant director, Joe Pantangelo, made the following statement... "I think what was done, cries out for JUSTICE. It's a shame that this kitten HAD to suffer like this. For the kitten to get caught up in whatever is going on between them is a TRAGEDY." The suspect WAS charged with aggrevated cruelty to animals, burglary, arson, reckless endangerment & criminal mischief. She has been released to the custody of her mother. I don't care HOW mad or angry you are at someone, you DON'T take it out on the animals BUT this is happening ALL TOO OFTEN. We have GOT to stop this from taking place again. *** To Tiger Lily... you had a wonderful home. A mommie that loved you beyond the stars. You had food in your tummy. Water in your bowl. Toys to play with. You were ONLY 2 months old. You had MANY years ahead of you. You had NO idea what was going to happen to you that morning. You had no idea what kind of person would enter your life on that day & turn your whole world upside down. We are so sorry that your life had to end in such a horrible, painful manner. You are at the bridge now with many, many kitties & doggies. You have lizards & mice to chase. Sunny spots to take naps. Cat climbing posts to race up & down on. Trees to sharpen your kittie claws on. And all the food & water you could EVER want. Treats too! AND... I hear they have the BEST catnip around. So precious Tiger Lily... run fast, play hard & sleep well. You are forever in ALL of our hearts. Now go find my kittie gang... ask for Midnight... she will take you under her wing & keep you with them until I meet you all at the bridge. Oh... there's a special kittie, PRESSY... I know she will want to meet you & play. And I hear she hands out blankies to all of the new kitties that go to the bridge. You will like her very much. WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON & BACK TIGER LILY!!!... xoxo So, that's the sad story of Tiger Lily. I want to thank everyone who comes to visit this precious little girl. There's a petition to get the monster that did this charged as an adult. As soon as I can find it, I will post it here & I DO hope that everyone will sign it. Thank you. 08.18.2009...Hello cutie pie. I know you are running around the bridge chasing lizards & butterflies. I also heard that the person that did this to you has received 1yr in jail. I don't know if this is true but believe me, 1 yr is NOT enough time. xoxo 10.14.2009...Happy Fall sweet kittie. I am sorry that I have not been here to visit lately. I won't let that happen again. We are still working very hard to get justice for you. We WON'T let this monster get away with what she did to you.
