Memories of Simon
We met Simon in 2020, saving him from unfortunate circumstances along with his brother, Apache. He was the rock of our family. We didn't know that he would eventually show us how to love. We, his parents, had trouble adjusting to living together and functioning alone as adults. He taught us patience and kindness and the truest form of unconditional love. He would always brighten up even the darkest of rooms, and was a blessing to everyone he met. He was the sweetest thing to all who got to meet him. His purr would soothe you to sleep and you would swear he had serotonin and melatonin in his fur! He loved his family and was always there to remind us to keep our chin up! There wasn't a day that went by without him cheering up our moods! He was definitely a mama's boy. He made sure mommy knew where to go when she got home (usually the couch so he could lay on her chest.) He finally convinced us to let him sleep with us and would always keep mommy's head warm, occasionally using daddy as a mattress! He kept us clean and made sure we didn't forget to give him treats every day! His kisses were always the beat, and he always smelled like home (and his chicken dental gel!) He unfortunately had an undiagnosed diaphragm hernia and scarring near his lungs that caused complications to his surgery to correct said hernia. He passed peacefully and loved by everyone around him.

Happy birthday, Simon. I wish you were still here, you would know what to do to help us. I just wish I could talk to you again, son. I feel like we need you now more than ever. I regret so many things, and I wish I could have loved you more and longer. I'm sorry Simon.
