Memories of Putsey
Dear Putsey,

I remember the day we saw you in the pet shop in Tucson in 1977. You were the cutest little Panama Amazon Parrot. You were so gentle and funny. I fell in love with you. You were such a little clown. You loved Chi Chi our white Persian cat. You were so gentle with my two young sisters when they visited. You'd let them dress you up and make a shoe box your little vehicle and pull you all over the house. They called it playing Putsey's Circus. We were all so young. Now 43 years later you're gone. You should still be here. It's my fault. I knew you had arthritis in your little body and I stupidly placed you on a perch that was too high and you fell and broke your hip. The vet gave you medicine for the pain. But you got weaker by the day and then you couldn't breathe. You died in a hospital cage without me even being able to be there with you. I'll never forgive myself. Never. I love you so much. Losing a pet after 43 years is so heartbreaking. I just want to hold you one more time but that will never happen. I'm so sorry Putsey. My little man please forgive me.

Love Mommy
