Memories of Percy Faith
Percy Faith was a tiny red/apricot poodle who came to us on 11 Aug 2018. He came a long way. He was impounded as a stray by Miami Dade Animal Services on 03/25/18 and named "Wesley". My heart tells me that he was beloved by an owner who passed away...and the family just let him loose on the streets. He was estimated to be 10 years old but he seemed to be a much older little man. He was blind from cataracts, very frail, had arthritis in his back legs, was wobbly on his feet and hard of hearing. How anyone could have abandoned this little angel is beyond me. How he could have survived out there on his own is hard to believe. Cat Crusade Rescue took him on 27 Mar 2018 and finally he ended up at Posh Pets Rescue in New York with Miss Linda. Miss Lynn was his foster mommy. I became his new mommy.

What I remember most about him was the day I went to take him home. Even though he could not see & probably could not hear, he suddenly just kissed my face before I put him in the car for the ride home. I knew then that he knew...

He was so quiet but whenever he got hungry, he had a strong & insistent little bark for such a little man. We nicknamed him "Rooster Cogburn" because he was always up with the sun and barking for his breakfast.

He had an endearing quality that when I would call his name, he would get so excited he would bow up & down like a little jump, trying to reach my face to kiss me. He loved to sleep like a baby in my arms.

We only had him a short while but we loved him fiercely. We celebrated summer 2018 , Labor Day 2018, Halloween 2018, Thanksgiving 2018, Christmas 2018, New Years 2019, Valentines' Day 2019, Easter 2019 and even the 4th of July 2019, when he eagerly gobbled up a small piece of hamburger.

His best buddy was his brother Fred W. Farkle (the "W" stands for "woof"). Fred was his shadow & loved him to the end. They would always stay together. Fred was his guardian, always watching over him, as if he knew that he needed to be protected---even on the last morning.

He was also loved by Lucy, Shuey, Mama and Oscar.

The night before we lost you to end stage kidney disease and cancer was horrible. Dr Collins at VCAH helped you cross the bridge peacefully. I know you are running in the sunshine unimpeded by lack of sight. Run free my little man...and let the wind blow through your beautiful red curls. Gone too soon. I will love you forever...All my love, Your Mommy
