Memories of Missy Sunshine
Missy Sunshine came into our lives with her brother Murphy in 2002. Missy was a very social kitty and greeted most people she deemed worthy that came over to the house. She was THE Princess of the household and she never let her brother forget that. She had such a sweet personality always wanting to give you lots of sugar, head butts and purrs. When her brother Murphy crossed the rainbow bridge in 2007 she was devastated. We brought her home a new brother, Henry, whom she did not approve of for YEARS. She finally gave in and realized he wasn't leaving so she tolerated him. Henry just wanted to love his new sister and often times didn't know his boundaries. But a quick swat on the nose would remind him. As the years went by Missy and Henry were besties snuggling together, he definitely loved her more than she loved him but she completely accepted him. The last 5 years of Missy's life was challenging given she was deaf, developed arthritis in her joints and no longer jumped up to the kitty posts and the battle of renal disease. Everything was stable until it wasn't. We prepared for the end as best as you can but you are never really ready. The end came fast. Now she can run up and down stairs, jump up into her kitty perch, play paper bag as much as she wants to. While our hearts our broken there is solace in knowing she is no longer suffering and at peace. We will miss you dearly and will cherish all the memories close to our hearts. We know you will come for a visit to let us know everything is alright.
