Memories of Michael Patrick

Michael Patrick spent 18 loving and loved years with his mom, Jayne, at Furry Friends Haven, from the time he was diagnosed with epilepsy and FIV as a kitten, and was the oldest member of the kitty household, but it was complications from kidney failure that finally took his sweet body. He will be sorely missed by her and by the other kitties there. I (Clare) was privileged to sponsor him along with several others at the Haven. He crossed Rainbows Bridge gently, softly and peacefully late yesterday afternoon, 1/27/09. He will be treasured by his mom forever and remembered by us, his Aunties Clare and Martha. We will all be together again one day in God's time, and it will be truly grand! Until then, Michael Patrick, along with others from FFH who are across the Bridge are watching over their mom, Jayne, with so much love. What a truly beautiful, glorious place it must be! From Michael Patrick to his mom, this message by an anonymous poet seems so fitting: As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played, I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade. I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity. I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side Were meadows rich and beautiful - lush and green and wide; And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be. My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do. I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright, That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright glow pierced the night. 'Twas the glow of many candles, shining bright and strong and bold And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold. For although we may not be together in the way we used to be, We are still connected by a cord no one can see. So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart. 2/7/09 - Happy Valentine's Day, gorgeous boy. You are held close in our hearts forever. Aunties Clare and Martha and for sure, your mom, Jayne 3/3/09 - This is your very first Easter at the Bridge. May you be surrounded by the love of the angels, knowing that you are in our hearts forever until we meet again. Love, Aunties Clare & Martha, and your mom, Jayne 8/12/09 - Sweet Michael Patrick, we ask that you take Jake under your paw. He just crossed Rainbows Bridge today and is probably wondering what has happened. It is so beautiful there, and we entrust him into your care. Please, both of you go to the Bridge and send your precious love down the Rainbow into the heart of your mommy, Jayne, who is hurting so much right now. Let her know that you are safe and well again, and waiting for her, watching over her with so much love. We will miss Jake too, and we know that you are both safe in God's sunshine and in the arms of angels. So many furbabies, feathered and scaly ones, will be celebrating with you. One day we will be with you, and your mom will be there too. Please keep your love wrapped around her heart so that she knows you are with her always. Celebrate to your heart's content, dearest MP, and then snooze in the lap of an angel, with a full tummy. Your aunties, Clare & Martha 11/26/10 - The holidays are upon us again, and this is your second Christmas at the Bridge. May God's love shine on you, and may the Christmas angels hold you close. You are forever loved. Your aunties, Clare & Martha 12/25/10 - Merry Christmas, sweet boy! Enjoy all the goodies and then take a nap in the lap of your guardian angel. This is your second anniversary at the Bridge, and the banquet will be wonderful! Celebrate to the fullest with all your wonderful friends there, and send your love down the Rainbow to your mom, Jayne, who still thinks about you and loves you. St. Francis and your guardian angel are there with you on this special day and will give you hugs of happiness. Your Aunties Clare and Martha 6/18/11 - Sweet Michael Patrick, thank you so much for being at the Bridge to welcome Biggie home with you from the Haven at 5:00 a.m. yesterday, 6/17/11. Please show him all the wonders of that beautiful place and show him how to send your mommy, Jayne, love and purrs on the breezes from heaven. God bless you and Biggie. We love you.
