Gracie D Dawg Friends don't come easily Friends fade away You came, you stayed You loved, you played But the day came When you had to leave Passed over the bridge Healed, whole, healthy, happy Again the wonderful friend we knew Wait for us pupppy And we'll all be home one day Mommy & Daddy "Touch me It's so easy to leave me All alone with the memory Of my days in the sun If you touch me You'll understand what happiness is Look..A new day has begun" Gracie showed up in our yard 11 years ago. Our granddaughter shouted Oh Grandma, look at the puppy. Well, she just stayed and grew and we were one big pack! HER pack. She liked to walk with mommy and before she got sick her sole mission in life seemed to be to eradicate squirrels as a species! She loved to go for a ride. No matter if we went around the block or 3 hours away but she liked being home with her people best. Gracie had to leave us on Jan 19 2010 and I still feel so very sad. It's like losing a part of yourself when one who gave her love and companionship freely is no longer there. She is chasing the squirrels and the tennis balls and making all kinds of new friends. January 29 - Gracie comes home today. One last ride in the car. Welcome home baby girl. By now, I hope that you have found our Sister Kitty. Puss loved you so! I don't want the two of you to 'rest' or 'be at peace'. I want you to go run, to chase squirrels, and toy mice. I want you to have a PARTEE! Feb 16 - 4 weeks today since you crossed the bridge and I miss you lots baby dawg. March 12 - That though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind.....Wordsworth March 22 - There is a hole in my heart that just can't be healed. May 15 - It's been a year since we said good-bye to our special kitty Sister. Miss you madame. May 17 - Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass; it's about learning how to dance in the rain. See the rainbow baby dawg....it's for you and for Sister. June 17 - Still am missin you, Baby Dawg. I think our new girl Bree might be kin to you! She sure has opinions! And tho not as large as you, she has your eyes and a partially black chow tongue. December 2010 - Merry Christmas baby. I love you January 17 2010 - I will be a year tomorrow Gracie Girl. I still miss you but looking at pictures I am remembering how much fun you were and how funny. That is the way I remember us. Tonight I celebrate you, your life, and our everlasting friendship. I honor your time with us and I wish you peace.
