Memories of Twinkle & Desi

DESI - 5/22/94-9/3/07 - 'Sassy Ms Desiree' Was the best little girl right from the time we got her at 12 weeks old until the day she crossed Rainbows Bridge. We brought her home shortly after my Dad passed away, and I've always said he would have loved her because of her attitude. I always believed my Dad sent her to us because she had a disposition alot like his. Everyone that met her liked her. She was the easiest puppy to train. We had her less that a couple of weeks and she would ask to go outside. When we were outside, she stayed right by us and never had to be on a leash or tied up in the front of the house. She never left our yard! She was a brave little girl though, not afraid of any bigger dog and always wanted to play with them. The one thing she was afraid of was the noise from thunder storms and fireworks! She would shake herself ragged during those times. Another great memory was when we would go to Oscoda to see Art's parents and his Grandma Cricky. Grandma Cricky loved Desi and she (Desi) would lay on her lap all the time. As soon as we would open the car door, she would want in the house, run straight down the hall and jump in Grandma's lap! The first time we went up there after Grandma passed away, Desi jumped out of the car, into the house, ran down the hall to the family room and stopped dead in her tracks because Grandma wasn't in her chair. She then ran to her bedroom and proceeded to look everywhere all over the house for her! We just know she IS truly missed. Thank goodness we had our other Papillon, Twinkle, when Desi passed. WE LOVE AND MISS YOU DESI TWINKLE - 6/5/95-11/19/10 - 'Josandre's Watch Me Star' Was 3 years old when she came to live with us. It was early in 1998 when I wanted another Papillon puppy. What better place to go than our annual dog show in March. My husband and I went and watched and talked to different breeders. The one most helpful was from Rochester, MI, not far from us. She gave us some names of breeders she knew. We made a few phone calls but no one had any female pups! We contacted MaryJo again and she said she had a little 3 year old show girl(she had ribbons) that she was planning on retiring, if we were interested. We arranged to go to her home and see some of her Paps she had, and lo and behold, there she was! The cutest, prissyest black and white one we ever saw! She was jumping all over and we fell in love all over again. We told her we really liked her and gave her background info as to having Desi at home. She, of course, asked us questions about the breed and she knew that we knew their disposition and traits. She would not answer her phone when you called, because she said you would be surprised and the amount of people that would call her and couldn't even pronounce Papillon! She wanted us to come back over and bring Desi so she could meet her and see how the two of them would get along. It was like instant friendship. It wasn't long after Twink came to live with us that she and Desi would lay side by side touching as if they had grown up together! Twink was a sweet little thing and Desi was like our tom-boy, so different yet so much alike. When Desi passed, Twinkle was lonely for a while, but then realized she was the Queen! It was funny because, even though Twinkle was the prissy one, I used to call her pig pen alot because she was always getting her food in her hair and a mess in her tail. But we loved her anyway. WE LOVE AND MISS YOU TWINKLE Not a day goes by that we don't look at Desi & Twinkle, in a picture on the front of a beautiful oak box where together their ashes were placed.
