Memories of Coal

We brought you home on Janurary 17, 2004. I remember how there was about four inches of snow on the ground. When we got you home and you had to go outside, we didn't even have to put you on a leash so that you wouldn't run. You just followed us right out back, belly hitting the cold snow, sticking your nose in it. When it was time to come in, you just followed right after us back into the house. It was always that way, you listening and following us......Yesterday was very hard buddy. All day long images of that first day at home kept running through my head. Now the house is empty without you here. We miss you more than you will ever know.
