Memories of Chia

My dearest sweet Chia, This will be the last time I come to Rainbow's Bridge to visit you. I not only have your earthly remains close but so many strong wonderful memories. I know you are here listening when I talk to you and feel you always around me. Aunty Sara posted something to me about loving furry pets who once had homes. But it was not their fault, they gave their 'all' before these loving furballs were put in shelters by those who took them in, most of the time because of stupid reasons or lies. The owners thought they would get a home, but 90% of them did not and have joined you there in Rainbow. The saddest ones are ones where their human companions past away and they had nowhere to go but those shelters. And then there are those left here in the forrest around our house by their human in hope somebody takes them in or they feel the pet can and will survive... so many are found on the sides of the road around here after being hit by a vehicle or dying because of the season change... not just furry ones either, feather and others too. Chia, you have always been a good leader whenever we got others here at home. And you always were a good friend, not only to me and the kids... and John <giggle> but to the other furballs at home or that came to visit. You were never mean or nasty, but friendly. Please find these lost souls that died so terribly alone and give them comfort. Let them know there are humans that so wish they could have been there for them. Let them find some happiness in the Rainbow Bridge. I love you so much... but this so troubled me... so many, so very many... I never knew the numbers were that high until that animal person in NC (popeye) posted and Aunty Sara saw it. I hope that person is not so haunted by his job like he wrote he was... maybe someday it won't be so horrible for him.
