Memories of Amber

Amber went to sleep tonight for the last time, she had been sick for a little while and was tired, and her liver was failing. You can chase the birdies forever now baby...just don't hurt them! Chloe will have to take over your place underneath the wicker chair on the porch.. she has been looking all over for you tonight and Mollie is wondering what happened to her nightly chases with you.. :( Amber was born in February 1998, just before my wedding.. Her mommy was Mia, and she was the littlest of the kittens.. The night I got her, my friend Laura came over to see her and she soaked us in kisses and loved to lie on my chest and purr and lick anything that moved - that never changed! She was a transatlantic kitty and moved here to Memphis with me in April 2004 - I remember her little face when she got off the plane with her sister Chloe, and our first night here sneaking her into a hotel room! She quickly adapted to being an indoors cat and would lay out on the porch trying to chase the birds! She was the Queen cat of the neighborhood back home in the UK.. and all the other cats would follow her on their escapades in the night! She was healthy and active then and everyone loved her - she was so affectionate and happy! I'll never forget you Amber, to some people you may just be a cat, but you were more than that to me, you were my little buddy and I will miss you snuggling on my pillow and licking my face at night, you were through it all with me, moving from place and place and stayed with me when we had to leave your old home behind, and as with most animals, gave back unconditional love in all of your seven years. I just wish I could have done more for you. I'll never forget you little kitty. Love forever, Mommy x
